Awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours on 12 June, as Founding Trustee of The Bruce Charitable Trust and as immediate past-President of The Kennet & Avon Canal Trust

 

2019:

President-Elect of The Newbury & District Agricultural Society, organisers of The Royal County of Berkshire Show (www.berkshireshow.co.uk) Sadly, due to Covid-19, the 2020 Show was cancelled.

Providing holidays on the Kennet & Avon Canal from 1990 to 2017 for over 25,000 disabled, disadvantaged or elderly people together with their carers on four specially-designed, purpose-built, wide-beam boats. In 2017, the boats were gifted to the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust, which continues to operate the Bruce Boats thanks to the dedicated volunteers of the Bruce Branch at Great Bedwyn.
